10 Interesting Things About Me:

1. I am in a band called The Celtic Curse. I sing, play drums, tambourine, auto harp and Irish Drum (bodhrÃn). We play Irish Punk Rock music similar to Dropkick Murphy's. It is really fun to go out and gig for large crowds especially during St. Paddy's day!

2. I love teaching art, illustrating and graphic art. I was a college professor for many years and really loved sharing my knowledge. Now a days I really enjoy teaching children art. I volunteer once a month at the local elementary school and teach painting, drawing, color theory and much more, what a blast!

3. I love hiking, especially really tall mountains. It is a great challenge to be able to see a goal right in front of you and tackle it! Sometimes I will take on a mountain that can be 1.5 miles long. The last mountain I hiked was 4564 feet in elevation!

4. I have a wonderful memory and I can recall lyrics from songs I have heard. I can still recall lyrics from when I was seven years old! I suppose having a love of music will grow many skills!

6. Sewing is one of my most favorite past-times. I have sewn costumes for my children for Halloween, outfits for talent shows and I even sewed my own wedding dress! Being creative is a fundamental vale for me.

7. I cannot wait for the day I get to try stand-up comedy. It has been a dream of mine for a long time. So many funny things happen, daily, that I have been saving these gems up for a fantastic routine! I will keep you posted on my upcoming tour!

8. I love gardening. We have half an acre of land in the Mojave Desert in Southern California and to find ways to successfully grow food for my family is just the challenge I embrace. So far we have grown cucumbers, bell peppers, Tomatoes, celery, carrots, potatoes, beans, broccoli, cabbage, peas, corn, onion, garlic, grapes, apples, peaches, strawberries, almonds, and more!

9. I really enjoy tap dancing. As a child I took tap and ballet and watching my daughter learn these dances inspired me to try again. It is so much fun to challenge your mind to get your legs to do things you think are not possible. What a workout!

10. Most of my books have been written out in nature. I really believe that I have more clarity in writing when I am out in nature, sitting on a rock and jotting down the words to inspiring and motivating life lesson stories.
